Upward Bound Math Science at Trinidad State Junior College provides an encouraging environment to prepare 9th through 12th grade students with insufficient access to higher education for a successful college endeavor through a program of engaging instruction, experience-based learning, and diverse cultural exposure.

Upward Bound Math Science at Trinidad State Junior College will create and evolve an effective college preparatory STEM focused program, enabling students to reach their potential and positively affect their families and communities.


If you are interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), here’s your chance to try out college cost-free through the Upward Bound Math Science program at Trinidad State’s Trinidad Campus.

Designed to prepare students to enter and complete college, this program pays for your travel, lodging and food for six weeks. Participants will also receive a monthly stipend for their academic success. All 9th through 11th grade students are encouraged to apply.

You’ll stay in supervised college residence halls and participate in STEM-based courses designed to prepare you for a college degree. Explore robotics, engineering, 3D printing, CAD software, and more. Everything is provided! All we need is your commitment to learn and grow.

This life changing opportunity is available to students in Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Huerfano, Las Animas and Rio Grande counties, as well as Colfax and Union counties in New Mexico.
