Upward Bound Math Science at Trinidad State Junior College provides a college preparatory environment for 9th through 12th grade students who have insufficient access to higher education. We seek to build both the personal and academic confidence necessary for a successful college endeavor through a program of team building exercises, engaging instruction, experience-based learning, and diverse cultural exposure.
Upward Bound Math Science at Trinidad State Junior College will create and evolve an effective STEM focused program, enabling students to fulfill their potential, and take control of their educational pathway in order to positively affect their families and communities.
If you are interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), here’s your chance to get a head start on college cost-free through the Upward Bound Math Science program at Trinidad State.
Designed to prepare high school students to enter and complete college, this program introduces you to engineering, exposes you to the world or robotics, gives you college level tutoring and pays you $40 a month! All 9th through 11th grade students are encouraged to apply.
Then you'll be eligible to apply for an immersive six-week stay on our Trinidad Campus next summer and learn even more. You'll explore robotics, engineering, 3D printing, CAD software, and more. Everything is provided! All we need is your commitment to learn and grow. This life changing opportunity is available to students in Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Huerfano, Las Animas and Rio Grande counties, as well as Colfax, Union and McKinley counties in New Mexico.
