Upward Bound Math Science at Trinidad State Junior College provides a college preparatory environment for 9th through 12th grade students who have insufficient access to higher education. We seek to build both the personal and academic confidence necessary for a successful college endeavor through a program of team building exercises, engaging instruction, experience-based learning, and diverse cultural exposure.
Upward Bound Math Science at Trinidad State Junior College will create and evolve an effective STEM focused program, enabling students to fulfill their potential, and take control of their educational pathway in order to positively affect their families and communities.
If you are interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), here’s your chance to try out college cost-free through the Upward Bound Math Science program at Trinidad State’s Trinidad Campus.
Designed to prepare students to enter and complete college, this program pays for your travel, lodging and food for six weeks. Participants will also receive a monthly stipend for their academic success. All 9th through 11th grade students are encouraged to apply.
During the six-week summer session you’ll stay in supervised college residence halls and participate in STEM-based courses designed to prepare you for a college degree. Explore robotics, engineering, 3D printing, CAD software, and more. Everything is provided! All we need is your commitment to learn and grow.
This life changing opportunity is available to students in Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Huerfano, Las Animas and Rio Grande counties, as well as Colfax and Union counties in New Mexico.
