Dustin Hyman has worked as a freelance writer and a journalist. After teaching in Europe and South America, Dustin went on to earn a PhD in English from the University of Louisiana. He has presented academic papers at several nationally recognized conferences. Dustin's creative writing has appeared in many journals / magazines and his first novel, Island Folks, was published in 2014 by Black Rose Writing. In 2018 Dustin won the Chicago Tribune’s Nelson Algren award for literature.
