Wendy Nakao
Adjunct Instructor, Occupational Safety and Health
I was born in Hibbing, Minnesota and moved to Colorado within my first year – so I consider myself practically a native. I grew up in Lakewood (southwest suburb of Denver) and did my undergraduate work in Fort Collins.
My Bachelor of Science degree is from Colorado State University in Environmental Health, with a minor in Chemistry. I have a Master of Science degree from Colorado School of Mines in Mine Health and Safety. In addition to my degrees, I’m certified as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). I have worked for over thirty years as an environmental, health, and safety consultant.
Currently, I live in Fort Collins with my husband and we enjoy traveling, golfing, and pickle ball.
