A Helpful Option

When we think of making a charitable gift, our checkbook is often the first thing that comes to mind.  There are other options, of course.  And if you’ve reached age 70.5 or older, your IRA might be an interesting source for your philanthropy.

By using a “Qualified Charitable Distribution,” you can make a gift directly from your IRA to Trinidad State College Foundation.  A simple letter of instruction is all that’s needed – and as an added benefit – if you’ve reached age 73 a ‘QCD’ can also fulfill your Required Minimum Distribution for the year.

Instead of reaching for the checkbook, consider whether a Qualified Charitable Distribution might make more sense.  For more information about these gifts, please contact Toni DeAngelis at toni.deangelis@trinidadstate.edu or 719-846-5520.
