Student Emergency Fund
Spring 2021 Scholarship
Trinidad State Junior College is offering students enrolled in 6 or more credit hours CRRSAA funds. Students must complete the requested information to be eligible. Students that completed the CARES Act Concurrent Enrollment Scholarship will receive one scholarship (not both). Funds will disbursed as directed on this form to either pay the TSJC account balance or to be sent to the bank mobile account.

Student Emergency Fund
The Student Emergency Fund (SEF) is supported by Trinidad State Junior College and the Educational Foundation. The SEF is set in place to assist TSJC students by proving financial support when they need assistance with unexpected emergency expenses. This funding is not intended to replace or supplement existing income and/or financial aid and does not have to be repaid. Student Emergency Funds are limited. The number of students served through the program is subject to the availability of funds. The fund is sustained through contributions from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, private donors, and friends of the college.

PRESIDENTS SCHOLARSHIP
3.5 - 4.0 GPA

Amount: 6 credit hours on-campus, in-state tuition rate
Duration: Up to two years or 60 credit hours based on academic performance
Criteria: Scholarships available to new incoming student and have earned a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 – 4.0 or achieved a 1130 or higher on the SAT. Students must carry at least 15 credit hours per semester and keep a GPA of 3.5 or higher to maintain the scholarship. Cumulative GPA will be used for continuing eligibility. Please also include official transcripts or high school equivalency and SAT/ACT scores.

Fall Semester Priority Deadline - First Friday in March
Fall Semester Final Deadline - August 1
Spring Semester Deadline - First Friday of semester

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
3.0 – 3.499

Amount: 3 credit hours on-campus, in-state tuition rate
Duration: Up to two years or 60 credit hours based on academic performance
Criteria: Available to new incoming students who apply prior to first semester at TSJC and have earned a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 – 3.5 or achieved between 980 – 1120 composite score on the SAT. Students are required to carry 15 credit hours per semester and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Cumulative GPA will be used for continuing eligibility. Please also include official transcripts or high school equivalency and SAT/ACT scores.

Spring Semester Deadline - First Friday of semester

LEARN LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: 3 credit hours on-campus, in-state tuition rate
Duration: Up to two years or 60 credit hours based on academic performance
Criteria: Award provides a 3 credit hour scholarship to a student who lives in a Trinidad State service area county (Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Huerfano, Las Animas, Mineral, Rio Grande and Saguache). Student must carry at least 15 credit hours for a fall or spring semester. Please also include official transcripts or high school equivalency.

Foundation Scholarship Information

The Trinidad State Junior College Educational Foundation offers scholarships to students who attend Trinidad State Junior College. Scholarships are available for new and/or continuing students who demonstrate academic promise in a particular field of study or skill.  While many Foundation scholarships are available for Colorado residents, please complete your application and review all the scholarship opportunities to take advantage of the potential resources to help fund your education at TSJC.  Some scholarships may be renewed provided the recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements of the scholarship. Eligibility for scholarships is determined each academic year. Therefore, students must renew their application each year.

The TSJC Educational Foundation Scholarship Application process is ALL on-line to make it fast and simple with ONE application. 

Your application will now automatically match you to the majority of the Foundation scholarships from the General Application.  Based on your answers, you may qualify for additional Foundation scholarship opportunities and the system will prompt you to answer supplemental questions to determine your eligibility for recommended scholarships.  

You are invited to create your student account in the AcademicWorks Scholarship Administration System.  Once you confirm your account with the username and email you provided, you can start your scholarship application at any time. You can complete it and submit in one sitting or save it to complete at a later time. 
Please remember, the deadline to apply is March 5, 2021.

The Financial Aid Office cannot guarantee that you will receive any of the scholarships listed. It is your responsibility to become aware of all scholarships listed, as well as all requirements, and to make correct and timely applications. You must first be accepted at TSJC to apply for institutional scholarships. Additional requirements not listed here may have been added.

Please ensure that all information required by the scholarship is completed. Applications may be disqualified if all information requested is not supplied. Many, but not all, applications are due the first Friday of March.
