Your Loved Ones Come First

American philanthropy runs strong and deep. As many as 80% of people make charitable donations to worthwhile organizations every year, but only 8% make gifts through their estate. Why this discrepancy?

First, people sometimes think that an estate gift must be very large, but that’s not true. Trinidad State College Foundation receives estate gifts of all sizes, all of which help educate future generations of students.

Second, people are not always certain how to provide first for their family and friends, and only afterwards for a cause they care about. In your will or living trust, there is always a section for your residuary estate – the assets that remain after you’ve made specific bequests to those you love. Those who choose to support Trinidad State College Foundation often make gifts from their residuary estate.

Your loved ones must always come first – we would never suggest otherwise. Perhaps there is also a way to remember Trinidad State College Foundation.
