The Associate of General Studies (AGS) is designed for individuals who want to craft a curriculum that aligns with their personal, professional, and academic goals. Unlike traditional degree programs, the AGS gives you the freedom to select electives from both General Education and Career and Technical Education courses.

A note on transfer: The AGS degree is not primarily designed for seamless transfer to four-year colleges or universities. The transferability of individual courses is determined by the receiving institution. We recommend consulting with potential transfer schools regarding their acceptance of AGS credits before enrolling.
Associate of General Studies
*Semester planning for this degree will vary. Students are encouraged with work with closely with a Trinidad State advisor to plan their degree path. Requirements for this degree are minimum 60 credit hours of course work; cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher; general education courses of 30 credit hours; additional requirements of 30 credit hours; and minimum of 15 graded credit hours earned at Trinidad State College. AS Degree
Flexible general education framework pairing required coursework in English, communication, math, sciences, arts, and social sciences with 30 credits of free electives drawn from a broad range of academic and vocational disciplines.
Communications (6 credits) Select one English and one Communications course.
