The Associate of Applied Science in Computer-Aided Drafting prepares students to enter the workforce as versatile, job-ready CAD technicians. Students gain hands-on experience using industry-standard CAD tools to produce professional 2D drawings and detailed 3D models used in architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and construction. Emphasis is placed on real-world workflows, technical accuracy, and problem-solving skills valued by small- to mid-sized companies that rely on adaptable, multi-skilled designers.

Through project-based learning, students build a strong technical portfolio while developing specialized skills in leading CAD platforms such as SketchUp, Revit, and SolidWorks. Optional certificates allow students to focus on areas such as architectural visualization, building information modeling (BIM), or mechanical and manufacturing design. Graduates leave prepared to support design teams, contribute immediately in professional settings, and continue building toward advanced careers in drafting, design, and engineering technologies.

Sketchup Certificate
This certificate program prepares you to become proficient in the use of CAD software with a focus on 3D modeling and renderings using Sketchup software skills and techniques.

Revit Certificate
To complete this certificate, you need prior architectural design skills or related industry work experience. You'll explore Revit software and become proficient in the advanced use of CAD software as one of the leading building information modeling (BIM) tools in the architectural engineering construction industry.

Solidworks Certificate
To complete this certificate, you need prior mechanical engineering design skills or related industry work experience. This certificate prepares you to become proficient in the advanced use of Solidworks CAD software as one of the leading parametric solid modelers in the mechanical engineering and manufacturing industry.
