JOB OPPORTUNITIES:
Behavioral Health micro-credentials prepare students to work in mental health and/or
substance use care within a time period of one year or less. Upon completion, students
will be a QBHA as outlined by the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) and eligible
to serve as part of a Medicaid-reimbursed care team.

Patient Navigator
The Patient Navigator micro-credential ensures students are prepared to support clients
in identifying resources as well as navigating behavioral healthcare services and
systems. Patient navigators will focus on promoting client health and wellbeing.
Coursework includes 4 courses for a total of 12 credit hours.
Behavioral Health Assistant II
The Behavioral Health Assistant II micro-credential builds upon the QBHA micro-credential
through service-learning experience and a deeper analysis and understanding of diversity.
It ensures students have theoretical and experiential knowledge of behavioral health
care and practice. Upon completion of this micro- credential, students will have experience
applying many concepts and skills within diverse behavioral health settings. The curriculum
includes behavioral health and wellness, intercultural competency and inclusive practice,
therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and service-learning experience.
Medicaid Competencies: Under supervision, these individuals will be able to do elements of: Wellness Promotion,
Education, Community Needs Assessment, Screening, Referral, Crisis Management, Case
Management, Orientation to Services, and Individual & Group Interventions.
Coursework includes 6 courses (2 new from the QBHA below) for a total of 16 credit hours
Behavioral Health Assistant - Qualified BHA
The Behavioral Health Assistant micro-credential ensures students develop entry-level
behavioral health knowledge and competencies. Upon completion of this coursework,
they will be a Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) as outlined by the Behavioral
Health Administration. The curriculum includes entry- level skills and foundational
knowledge about behavioral health and wellness, intercultural competency, therapeutic
communication, case management, and crisis intervention.
Medicaid Competencies: Under supervision, these individuals will be able to do elements of: Wellness Promotion,

Behavioral Health + (Supplement)
The Behavioral Health + micro-credential is an effective addition to almost any role
(Certified Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, etc.). It ensures students develop foundational
behavioral health knowledge as well as entry-level crisis management and de-escalation
skills, which can be applied in a variety of settings.
Coursework includes 2 courses for a total of 6 credit hours.
