I am originally from Bogota, Colombia, South America and I also speak Spanish. I migrated
to the United States when I was 19 years old. Raised by a single mom, and being a
first generation student I completed the GED program at Trinidad State with the goal
in mind of learning the English language and obtaining the key to access higher education.
I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Spanish. I completed a Masters of Arts
in Community Counseling and through the Higher Education, Administration and Leadership
program at ASU, also finished a certificate in Executive Leadership.
I firmly believe in how education, discipline and determination allow you to succeed.
Support programs such as TRiO provide the guidance in a world that may seem difficult
to conquer. I am a TRiO alumni and as a Director of Student Support Services and the
Learning Center Coordinator in the Valley Campus, I can attest in how our students
are highly supported and encouraged to complete their program of study and continue
on when transferring to a 4-year college or university.
I am confident to assist you with academic advising, tutoring, transferring and college
navigation in general.
I appreciate the uniqueness that every student brings and it is always a pleasure
to be part of your academic journey at Trinidad State College!
