Valley Campus:

When is the Graduation Rehearsal?
Wednesday, May 8, 2024 @ 3:00pm - Plachy Hall, ASU Campus

When is the Commencement Ceremony?
The commencement ceremony of graduation will be held on Thursday, May 9th. The ceremony begins at 11:00am at the Adams State University's Plachy Hall.
Parking is free.

 

What Do I Do The Day Of Commencement?
All candidates are encouraged to be present at the commencement exercise, wearing cap and gown. Show up on campus 30 minutes prior to the start of the event to line up. If you have special needs or guests with special needs, please let us know prior the event so we can accommodate special requests.

Instructions for Graduates

  • Caps and gowns available for pick up from April 22 through May 8th in the Admissions Office. See Mathilda Westerman.
  • Candidates should wear tassels on the right until it is changed at the time of conferring the degrees.
  • Each candidate will be given a name card. Graduates will carry the name card to the stage and present it to the reader before crossing the stage.
  • After receiving his/her diploma cover, each candidate will exit across the platform and return to his/her seat.

Undergraduate Honors
Students who will be graduating with honors will be given a color cord during the graduation dinner based on previous semester GPA as follows:

  • Gold Cord
    – Graduating with highest honor
    – Summa Cum Laude (4.0 GPA)
  • Silver Cord
    – Graduating with Great Honor
    – Magna Cum Laude (3.75 - 3.99 GPA)
  • Bronze Cord
    – Graduating with Honor
    – Cum Laude (3.5 – 3.74 GPA)

The honor cords are for those students receiving a Degree.

Trinidad Campus:

When is the Graduation Rehearsal?
Tuesday, May 7, 2024 @ 4:00pm - Scott Gym

When is the Commencement Ceremony?
The commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 10th. The ceremony begins at 11:00am at the Pit on the Trinidad Campus.
Parking is free.
