Graduation Checklist

Complete these steps to ensure a smooth path to your diploma and the commencement ceremony.

  1. Degree Check

    Review your degree audit in the Student Portal, or visit the Student Success Center (Trinidad) or Welcome Center (Valley).

  2. Graduation Application

    Apply online or print the form (PDF) and bring it to your advisor. Required for all graduates.

  3. Financial Aid Exit

    Student loan borrowers only — complete required exit counseling at studentaid.gov before your last day.

  4. Request Regalia

    Graduates who request a cap & gown will receive a letter of invitation to the ceremony by the end of the third week of April.

  5. Diplomas & Certificates

    Once requirements are met, diplomas are mailed within 8 weeks following each term to the address on record in your student account.

  6. Career & Alumni

    Connect with Career Services in your campus Learning or Success Center, and consider joining the TSC Educational Foundation.

Day-of Instructions
  • Wear cap and gown — arrive 30 minutes before start time to line up
  • Wear your tassel on the right until degrees are conferred
  • You will receive a name card — carry it to the stage and hand it to the reader
  • After receiving your diploma cover, exit the platform and return to your seat

  • Notify us in advance if you or your guests require accommodations
  • Closed captioning and auto-translate available on the YouTube livestream — see instructions
  • Questions? Contact the Registrar's Office prior to the event
Undergraduate Honors Cords

Distributed at rehearsal based on cumulative GPA. Cords are awarded to degree recipients only.

  • Gold — Summa Cum Laude · 4.0 GPA
  • Silver — Magna Cum Laude · 3.75–3.99
  • Bronze — Cum Laude · 3.50–3.74
