Two Transfer Paths, One Strong Foundation

The Psychology program at Trinidad State covers the lower-division (freshman and sophomore) coursework recommended by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, so your credits transfer smoothly into a four-year psychology program. Nearly every course in the program is a Guaranteed Transfer course, meaning it is accepted at other public institutions in Colorado — so if your plans change, your credits still count.

Classes are available in person at the Trinidad and Valley campuses, and many sections are delivered live over WebEx or Zoom to multiple locations at once, including incarcerated students across Colorado connecting from a classroom monitor or Chromebook.

This degree may be free or low-cost for eligible students who qualify for a Federal Pell Grant.

Associate of Arts (AA)

Psychology — Trinidad & Valley Campus

A seamless transfer pathway toward a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in psychology. Covers the lower-division psychology core with Guaranteed Transfer Courses recommended by the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Delivered on campus, online, and live via WebEx or Zoom, including to students in Colorado correctional facilities. May be free or low-cost for students who qualify for a Federal Pell Grant.

Psychology — Trinidad & Valley Campus

Builds a solid foundation toward a Bachelor of Science (BS) in psychology, with Guaranteed Transfer Courses aligned to state standards. A comprehensive curriculum in psychological theories, research methods, and real-world application builds the analytical and critical-thinking skills needed for further study. Advisors work with AS students to explore paths in clinical psychology, counseling, research, and human services.

Tuition rates are identical at Trinidad and Valley campuses. Fees vary slightly by campus and credit load — see the full schedule for exact per-term totals. Course-specific fees (lab materials, software, certification exams) vary by program and are charged per course. Estimates do not include books, supplies, or room and board. Rates are for 2026–2027 and subject to change.
