Getting Started Checklist

  1. Apply and get accepted. Submit your application; once accepted, you'll receive your Student ID Number (S#) by email and in your acceptance letter.
  2. Activate your student portal and email. Log in with your S# to access the portal, D2L/Brightspace, and your official TSC email — you'll need this login for testing and registration.
  3. Complete your FAFSA. Apply for federal, state, and institutional financial aid as early as possible.
  4. Take your Accuplacer placement assessment. This helps place you in the right math and English courses, unless you qualify for an exemption.
  5. Attend New Student Orientation. Get familiar with campus, resources, and support services before you register.
  6. Meet with your advisor. All first-semester students have an advising hold on their account — this must be cleared before you can register for classes.
  7. Register for classes. Log in to the portal and use the class schedule to add courses to your schedule.
  8. Get your Student ID card. Bring a photo ID, your class schedule, and your S# to the admissions office on either campus.
  9. Complete the payment process. Pay your bill through the portal, or contact the Business Office with questions.
  10. Purchase your books and supplies. Visit the campus bookstore on either campus or shop online.
