Federally Funded Program

TRiO Student Support Services

A federally funded program that helps students meet basic college requirements and stay motivated toward finishing their degree. Services include academic advisement, mentoring, tutoring in many subjects, transfer and career advisement, financial literacy training, campus tours to four-year colleges, and cultural events.

To keep the program funded each year, participants work toward three goals:

  • Persistence — continue from one academic year to the next.
  • Good academic standing — maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA or above.
  • Graduation & transfer — complete a degree or transfer within four years.

TRiO also has laptops and iPads available to loan, plus a small library of current textbooks — all for use on campus.

Always Free

Tutoring Services

Tutoring is available to every TSC student, 24 hours a day, through Brainfuse and on D2L, or through TutorMe for CCCOnline courses. In-person tutoring is also available on both campuses.

Stay On Track

Academic & Transfer Advising

Academic advisors help you avoid taking courses you don't need, so you can graduate with less stress and more confidence in your path.

Advising hold

Every first-semester student has an advising hold on their account. It lifts once you've talked with an advisor — a quick step that makes sure you're set up correctly before registering for classes.

Walk-in advising by campus

Both campuses offer walk-in advising, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.

Equal Access

Disability Services

The Disability Services Office operates under Section 504 and 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. Reasonable accommodations are arranged case by case once you meet with a Disability Services representative and provide supporting documentation. Note that college accommodations work differently than high school and won't change a class's academic standards.

Support available (some by referral)

  • Disability counseling, advocacy, and advising
  • Assessment of basic academic skills
  • Accessible classrooms and alternate testing arrangements
  • Equipment loan (tape recorders, etc.)
  • Tutoring, note-taking support, and scribes
  • Assistive technology and alternate-format text
  • Learning success workshops and community referrals
