Micah Velasquez is an instructor of business and computer information systems at Trinidad
State College.
He is a financial industry professional and has a passion for his work in risk management,
business intelligence, and strategy. Micah is a business consultant and has experience
with various forms of businesses and organizations. He supports University of Colorado
southern district as a Daniel's Fund Ethics champion, and also has an advanced understanding
of financial crime prevention and serves as Program Director for the Association of
Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) Colorado Chapter, working with universities,
industry, and students in developing effective skills and programs.
Micah received the Professor of the Year award in 2023 by student nomination for his
lectures that include vivid business topics and learning experiences that transcend
academics with real world significance, and his genuine interest in student success
and discovery.
Micah's academic background includes business, economics, finance, computer information
systems, and biomedical neuroscience research.
