Established in 1925 as Colorado's first community college — serving southern Colorado from campuses in Trinidad and Alamosa.
A Century of Affordable, Accessible Education
Trinidad State College provides an affordable, accessible education to students across southern Colorado and beyond. We offer unique academic programs in fields such as Cosmetology, Welding, Electrical Line Technology, Nursing, Art, Theatre, and Machining — alongside traditional Arts and Sciences coursework and a guaranteed transfer pathway to four-year colleges and universities in Colorado.
We are also home to one of the first Gunsmithing programs in the United States, and to the Louden-Heinritze Archaeology Museum on our 17-acre Trinidad Campus. Trinidad State has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since 1962.

Two Campuses, One College
Our original campus sits on 17 spacious acres in Trinidad, home to residence halls, the Louden-Heinritze Archaeology Museum, and signature programs including Gunsmithing, Welding, and Cosmetology.
Our second campus, in Alamosa, offers a considerable selection of courses including Nursing, Welding, Automotive, Emergency Medicine, Dental, and Law Enforcement Training. On either campus, we can prepare students for continued education at a four-year school.
