The 2019 volleyball season is set for the first official serve on August 23, when the Trojans travel to a season opening tournament in Utah hosted by Snow Community College. Before that it is time to get in shape with two-a-day practices and other activities. This past Saturday the Lady Trojans hosted their annual Alumni Scrimmage as part of their preseason preparation. Ten former Trojans returned to challenge the current team before settling in for a postgame meal together.

Returning this year were Jolinalynn Achiu, Deidre Dimino, Jerusha Pitzer, Alyssa Suazo, Emmy Gazaway, Kaitlyn Smith, Dorian Ray, Mariah Michael, Anabelle Celis and Jordin Hanley. All of the returners played for Coach Melissa Hardman in the past four seasons. They were a strong challenge to the young Trojan team and everyone had a fun day.

This year’s squad will start play in just over a week in Richfield, Utah with games against Colorado Northwestern Community College, Yavapai, Snow College and Utah State Eastern. The Lady Trojans first home action will be September 6 and 7 when they host the annual SOCO Classic.
